VC999's RANGE OF PACKAGING MACHINES CREATE MANY TYPES OF HIGH-QUALITY PACKAGING
VC999’s wide range of packaging machines are able to create a variety of packaging types. The combination of top sealing films and bottom forming films, give you the ability to customize your packaging. People love packaging with Rollstock Thermoformers for the wide range of packaging types and sizes it can create. Additionally, with its fast packaging speed, it often lowers labor costs.
Below are some common packaging types:
Vacuum Packaging
Vacuum packaging is the technique of removing all the air from a package prior to sealing to create an airtight seal. This allows food to be preserved for 3-5 times longer than if it was stored in plastic bags or other containers. Typically, clear film is used to allow the customer to see the product.
Skin Packaging
Vacuum skin packaging uses a flexible top film to act like a second skin which seals to the formed rigid tray below. Skin packaging, often used with fish, creates an attractive package allowing the consumer to clearly view the product while extending the shelf life of the product.
MAP Packaging
MAP or, Modified Atmosphere Packaging, sometimes also called Gas Flushing, is a way of extending the shelf life of fresh food products by replacing the air in the container with protective gas, usually Nitrogen, to keep products fresh, longer.
Shrink
Shrink packaging begins by creating a vacuum package using a shrink bag on a vacuum chamber machine, or using shrink films on a thermoformer machine. After packaging, heat is applied to the package by either a shrink tunnel or a dip tank which causes the film to shrink tightly around the item.
Top Seal
Top Seal, or also called Lidding, is done by applying a top barrier film to a rigid pocket or tray with little to no vacuum applied. This packaging type can be made as a thermoformed pocket on a rollstock thermoformer, or a on a tray sealer using pre-formedrigid cups, tubs, or trays.
Easy Peel
Much like top seal or lidding, easy peel is packaging in the same way. The only difference being the peelable film that provides a clean, easy to peel open package. This packaging type can be done via a thermoformed pocket, or a via a tray sealer on a rigid pre-formed cup, or tray.
